When my son was five years old, I made a promise to myself:
"Insha Allah, one day my son will work for one of the world's best technology companies."
At that time, I was an ordinary man with limited resources, facing family challenges and, later, a difficult battle with depression. Yet despite every obstacle, that dream never left my mind.
Life, however, seemed determined to prove me wrong.
The First Collapse – Vrindavan
My son was naturally talented and fascinated by computers. After school, I arranged admission for him through the NRI quota in a software diploma program because I believed technology was his future.
Instead of pursuing engineering or a university degree, he chose a completely different path. He left everything behind and travelled to Vrindavan with the intention of becoming a monk. He shaved his head and wished to dedicate his life to spirituality.
As a father, I was devastated.
The dream I had carried in my heart for years appeared completely shattered.
But I refused to give up.
I wrote him a deeply emotional letter expressing my hopes, fears, and love as a father. Eventually, he returned home. Yet the challenges did not end there. He later dropped his Class 12 final examination and struggled to find direction in life.
The Second Collapse – Addiction
Soon afterward, I discovered that he had become involved with marijuana.
Rather than reacting with anger or punishment, I chose to approach him as a friend. I tried to guide him patiently. Unfortunately, the situation worsened.
With tremendous effort from his mother, support from family friends, and guidance from our respected mentor, Vikram Sir, he entered a rehabilitation centre.
Even after rehabilitation, the road to recovery remained difficult and uncertain.
The Third Chance – UAE
Determined to provide a better environment and closer supervision, I brought him to the United Arab Emirates.
There were difficult days.
There were arguments, disappointments, setbacks, and moments when many parents would have given up hope entirely.
I never did.
The dream never disappeared from my mind.
The Long Climb Back
Slowly, he resumed his studies and attempted to rebuild his life.
There were setbacks again. Academics remained a struggle, and he did not always complete what he started. Nevertheless, I continued encouraging him, supporting him financially whenever possible, and reminding him that his potential was greater than his circumstances.
By mid-2024, my own financial situation had become challenging. I advised him to take any honest job available rather than waiting endlessly for the perfect opportunity.
Eventually, he secured a position in Bengaluru earning approximately ₹22,000 per month.
For many families, that might have been the end of the story.
For us, it was only the beginning.
He believed ₹22,000 per month was not enough and continued applying elsewhere. He attended multiple interviews and faced rejection after rejection.
Five times he was rejected, largely because he did not possess a graduation degree.
Each rejection tested his determination.
Each rejection tested mine as well.
The Breakthrough – Elon Musk's Company
I continued searching for opportunities and came across a vacancy at one of Elon Musk's companies.
This time, he applied.
Driven by his desire to build a better future, he prepared seriously and gave his best effort.
He was selected.
After twenty-five years of carrying a dream, witnessing failures, setbacks, disappointments, and uncertainty, I finally saw what I had hoped for since he was five years old.
I was dreaming in day time distributed sweets in celebration as my son was selected for the job.
Today, he continues to work there and has already earned a promotion through his performance, dedication, and hard work.

A Father's Reflection
This is not a film story.
This is real life.
Some people may believe such a journey is fiction, luck, or coincidence.
It is not.
I am a fraud analyst by profession. My work is based on evidence, documentation, facts, and verification. Throughout my son's journey, I witnessed every setback and every recovery firsthand.
His success was not built overnight.
It was built through resilience, second chances, family support, discipline, faith, and persistence over many years.
If there is one lesson I have learned, it is this:
"Never give up on your child."
Dreams may take years to arrive. They may disappear and reappear. They may survive failure, addiction, rejection, and disappointment.
But when hope survives, extraordinary things become possible.
